Mudgee Airport

The Mudgee Airport is a vital asset for the Mid-Western Region. Owned and managed by Council, the airport provides unique aviation business opportunities.

The airport is located 5km from Mudgee CBD and offers:

  • Aerodrome land area of 95ha
  • Main sealed runway length (code 3C) 1,739m
  • Secondary grass runway length (Code 2C) 1,075m  
  • Navigation Aids – Non-Directional Beacon (NDB)
  • Private aircraft parking area  
  • AVGas and JetA1 fuel available

Additionally, the terminal room offers a lounge area with self-serve coffee and tea, passenger amenities and a conference room available for hire. Hangars are also available for hire.

On call services

Effective September 2026, Mudgee Regional Airport (YMDG) has updated the process for weekend and public holiday emergency on-call services.

Emergency Call-Outs from 12:00 AM Saturday to 6:00 AM Monday (including all Public Holidays), emergency call requests must be directed to the Mid-Western Regional Council After Hours Helpline at (02) 6378 2850.

Non-Emergency Enquiries: For general requests over a weekend or public holiday, please email aro@midwestern.nsw.gov.au.

Airport Inspections: As a result of these updated on-call arrangements, weekend and public holiday airport inspections will now only be conducted following severe weather or an emergency incident (e.g., a disabled aircraft on movement areas).

Commercial lease opportunities

Council is currently seeking expressions of interest for the lease of commercial land at Mudgee Airport.

Eight (8) fully serviced lots are available for long-term lease and development, created specifically to cater to the commercial and general aviation industry. Types of development that would be appropriate include aircraft storage, aircraft engineering services, avionics, flying schools, and aircraft detailing.
