Youth Services Team
The Youth Services team at Mid-Western Regional Council are committed to providing a range of workshops and activities for youth aged between 12 – 24 years of age across the Mid-Western region, including Kandos, Rylstone, Mudgee and Gulgong.
As part of their role, the team offer in-term activities including; Journalling, Table Top Gaming (Dungeons & Dragons), Gaming Meetups as well as Creative Fridays. During School Holidays, there is a wide range of activities scheduled throughout the region which could include outdoor sporting events, excursions to other nearby towns, artistic or creative workshops as well as competitions with prizes to be won.
The Youth Services team also helps administer the Mid-Western Youth Council which is a group of young people dedicated to representing other youth in the region on things like what activities/events they’d like to see in the area. Youth Councillors also help assist Youth Service Officers at events.
Youth Services Officers also collaborate with other organisations in the region on projects that can be completed to enhance our region or may be of particular interest to youth. Some past activities have included Waste 2 Art projects, Youth Employment Expos, Mental Health Chats with mental health providers, as well as Youth Fishing Days with NSW Department of Primary Industries.
