While age and disability may reduce some people’s capacity to get out and about, Meals on Wheels volunteers help make it possible for them to stay home and maintain their independence. By delivering nutritious meals, social interaction and a friendly check of a client’s wellbeing, volunteers help people live the lives they choose.
Mudgee Meals on Wheels is auspiced by Council. Flexible options are available to suit participants' budgets and delivery schedules are negotiated directly.
Who can use Meals on Wheels?
Meals on Wheels is available for a range of cohorts. To check eligibility, if you are aged 65 years old or over (or 50 years and over if you identify as a First Nations client), please contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or via the My Aged Care website for an assessment. All other clients may discuss their eligibility by contacting 6378 2714. We welcome the opportunity to assist with the referral process wherever possible.
When do you deliver?
Meals are delivered Monday to Friday, including public holidays, with a range of daily choices including hot meals, sandwiches and desserts, rotating on a four-week seasonal menu selection.
Frozen meals are also available and can be delivered or collected from Mudgee Meals on Wheels Office during business hours.
