Council is preparing a Mudgee Town Centre Growth Strategy and Master Plan to guide how the town centre and surrounding areas will grow and develop over the next 20–30 years.
The Strategy will set a clear vision for the CBD, including how it functions, where growth can occur and how to support a mix of uses such as retail, dining, tourism, services and housing, while maintaining Mudgee’s heritage character and identity.
It will also explore opportunities for increased building heights, mixed-use development and activation, as well as improving connectivity, including walking and cycling links and connections to surrounding areas. The Strategy will be supported by detailed analysis and will inform future planning controls, infrastructure priorities and delivery.
Community and stakeholder feedback is essential to help identify what is working well, where improvements are needed and how the CBD can evolve to meet future needs.
