The Mudgee Common Bike Track situated in South Mudgee is a favoured destination for mountain biking and walking enthusiasts, offering a variety of trails for riders of all skill levels. Only Council and the Mudgee Region Mountain Bike Club, with Council approval, have the authority to conduct any track maintenance or alterations in this area.
Recently, unauthorised modifications to a section of the track have come to the attention of Council and the Mudgee Region Mountain Bike Club. The Mudgee Common is situated on Crown land and Council is responsible for ensuring both the recreational value of the land and its ecological sustainability.
Council is currently investigating the unauthorised alterations to the track. Any information that community members may have regarding these modifications would be greatly appreciated.
