Free Pet Microchipping

Have your cat or dog microchipped for free this month with Council offering the service at no cost on Saturday, 30 August.

The event will take place at Mudgee Pound, 31 Blain Road, Caerleon, between 8.00am and 12.00pm. Bookings are not required.

Microchipping is a permanent and reliable form of identification that greatly increases the chance of reuniting with a pet should they become lost or stolen. Unlike collars and tags, which can be removed or lost, a microchip provides lifelong security for your animal.

Residents are reminded to ensure all dogs are on a lead and all cats are in a secure carrier when attending. There is no limit on the number of animals per household that can be microchipped on the day.

This service is available to all residents within the Local Government Area and forms part of a new Council initiative to provide free microchipping days every March and August.
