Council recognised with Risk Management Award

Council has been recognised with a top award for its updated Risk Management Framework.

The award was presented by insurance provider CivicRisk Mutual as part of the Risk Management Excellence Awards.

These awards celebrate members who have made a real difference through their risk management programs.

Council’s new Risk Management Framework takes a clearer, more practical approach to managing operational risks across all areas of Council.

It helps staff better understand and respond to risks associated with reaching Council’s objectives outlined in its Delivery Program and Operational Plan.

By using this new framework, Council can make smarter, faster decisions and is more likely to achieve its goals.

General Manager Brad Cam said the award is great recognition of the improvements made.

“Council saw the chance to strengthen how we manage risk and build a better system that supports our work,” Mr Cam said.

“This award shows we’re leading the way in local government and doing everything we can to deliver for our community.”

Mid-Western Regional Council took out the top honour ahead of several strong entries, including fellow finalist Penrith Council.
