In conjunction with Resilience NSW, Mudgee Arts Precinct invites you to join them for a community day to create, learn and connect.

The day is focussed on the significance of the Art Precinct's latest exhibition - Linda Jackson: Retreat, Regeneration, Reflection with a unique opportunity to connect with the artist and the local communiy. This exhibition comprises a collection of photographs taken by Linda Jackson detailing the landscape and its gradual recovery in the wake of the 2019/2020 fires that affected her property near Clandulla NSW.

Bushfire: it’s not all black.

The Exhibition

Linda Jackson AO is an institution in Australian art and design. Best known for her long-term partnership with Jenny Kee, the two were trailblazers in the 1970s and 1980s with their iconic use of Australiana in their fashion and designs.

In this exhibition Linda examines not only the blackened earth but also the regrowth and regeneration of the land, and finally the magnificent reflections of the landscape and sky in the billabong. This is the first solo exhibition by Linda Jackson dedicated to photography. Mudgee Arts Precinct is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Art workshops and book reading with Linda Jackson

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Linda Jackson who will be at Mudgee Arts Precinct offering guided tours of her exhibition as well as the opportunity for both children and adults to join in with her for creative activities and some collaborative fun in the upstairs seminar and community gallery spaces.

Combined with the art activities Linda will also give a reading of her book ‘Rainbow Menagerie’ which just so happens to be on the list for this year’s Premiers Reading Challenge.

Connect with emergency and recovery services and learn about the available resources

There will be information and service providers at the event. Meet and learn about emergency response service providers within our area, where to find help in a disaster and how you can get involved to support these services.

Fun bag for kids

The first 100 kids through the door will receive a goodies bag containing a special ‘Colourful Recovery’ Linda Jackson colouring book.
