Council is excited to announce the Central Coast Mariners will return to Mudgee for Round 20 of the Isuzu Ute A-League in March.

The Mariners will take on Macarthur Bulls on Saturday 11 March at Glen Willow Stadium.

Tickets will be on sale to Mariners members from 12 noon Monday, 6 February for a 48-hour period and then to the general public at 12 noon on Wednesday, 8 February at 123tix.com.au.

Mayor Des Kennedy said the Mariners and A-League have been accommodating in allowing the game to be postponed following major flooding in October.

“As we know, this game was due to be held in October last year, however Glen Willow and northern areas of Mudgee were hit with quite damaging flooding,” Cr Kennedy said.

“Our fields have recovered and we’re thrilled the Mariners have come to the party to reschedule the date for local fans.

“Hosting an A-League game in regional NSW is a huge benefit, not just for football fans but for the community and the economy alike.”

It’s estimated that the Mariners game in March 2022 generated approximately $400,000 for the local economy, with 54% of attendees being visitors to the region.

Central Coast Mariners CEO Shaun Mielekamp said the team is pleased to be able to return to Mudgee, and excited to give back to the community after the recent natural disasters.

“After the previous match was postponed due to floods we felt just as passionate, if not more, about making sure we make a difference to regional New South Wales and continue to take the game out to Mudgee,” Mr Mielekamp said.

“Mudgee has quickly become a home away from home for us and the support we get from the local community and all of regional New South Wales is sensational.

“It is really important that everyone gets behind the match. We have time to plan and book accommodation to get everyone to a fantastic stadium to watch an awesome match against Macarthur. I implore everyone to get there and be a part of this special day.”

Ticket prices for the game start from $35 for grandstand, $20 for adult general admission, $10 for children (over five years) general admission and $15 for concession general admission. A family ticket will also be available for $50 (2 adults, 2 children).

Kick-off for the Saturday 11 March clash will be 5pm with gates open at 4pm.

The 48-hour Mariners member pre-sale commences at 12 noon Monday, 6 February and to the general public at 12 noon on Wednesday, 8 February at 123tix.com.au.

This event is proudly supported by the Australian Sports Commission, and a $130,000 grant through the NSW Government’s Regional Events Acceleration Fund, which aims to support the social and economic recovery and prosperity of Regional NSW.
