Mudgee Arts Precinct presents: ARTEXPRESS 2025
Published on 14 May 2025
Mudgee Arts Precinct is delighted to announce it will be hosting ARTEXPRESS 2025 – the second time the exhibition has toured to the Mid-Western Region.
The annual exhibition features outstanding artworks created by NSW Visual Arts students for the 2024 Higher School Certificate. Among the 36 works on exhibition at Mudgee Arts Precinct, two of the artworks are by former Mudgee students: Angela Littler and Gabrielle Tipping.
Mudgee has also been selected to host a special Teacher Day, where our local art teachers can learn from art educators about how to best support and develop art for the HSC. This will take place on Monday, 19 May with details on mudgeeartsprecinct.com.au.
Gallery Curator, Lizzy Galloway said ARTEXPRESS began in the late 1950s and has been exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW since 1983.
“ARTEXPRESS is an annual series of exhibitions which enables students and teachers to see some of the best art currently produced at NSW schools,” Ms Galloway said.
NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Chief Executive Officer, Paul Martin, commended all students whose works were nominated for exhibition in ARTEXPRESS 2025 and congratulated the 36 students who were selected for exhibition at Mudgee Arts Precinct.
“ARTEXPRESS is a wonderful opportunity for the public to witness our youngest artists entering the Australian arts landscape,” Mr Martin said.
“The calibre of work that will be on display at the Mudgee Arts Precinct is a celebration of our young artists who found and fostered their passion, artistry and skills in NSW classrooms and the HSC Visual Arts syllabus.”
ARTEXPRESS is a joint initiative led by the NSW Department of Education and the NSW Education Standards Authority and has been curated and presented by Mudgee Arts Precinct.
The exhibition will be on display from 16 May to 20 July 2025. Opening night is from 6pm on Friday 16 May, with 16 of the exhibiting students and their families in attendance. Mudgee Arts Precinct is open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. Entry to both the exhibition and opening is free.
