St George Illawarra Dragons are set to ignite Glen Willow Stadium on Saturday, 24 February 2024, in a trial match against the Wests Tigers. The game marks the Wests Tigers’ first visit to Mudgee, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
Mayor Kennedy has expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming match, stating, “Mid-Western Regional Council is proud to host this event, showcasing the thriving relationship between our community and the NRL. We welcome the opportunity to host St George again along with Wests who I know also have a strong following in our region”.
The NRL’s regional games are renowned for drawing large crowds, with fans travelling considerable distances. This translates into substantial economic benefit for the region, injecting over $1 million in local spending per game.
These matches also provide an opportunity for our local footy fans to get up close to the action and see their heroes live.
Tickets and game details will be announced in the coming weeks.
