Four-time premiership winning captain, Isaah Yeo has thrown his support behind NSW’s newest purpose-built training and accommodation facility set to redefine pre-season preparation and team retreats in Australia.
The captain of the NSW Blues and Australian Kangaroos, has today been unveiled as the official ambassador of the Mudgee Team Training Village.
Developed by Mid-Western Regional Council, the centre is located in the heart of Mudgee, just 3.5 hours from Sydney, and is already attracting attention from elite sports teams, school programs and corporates across the country.
The facility provides a comprehensive and seamless experience, with advanced training facilities, access to nationally-acclaimed sports fields, recovery options, and premium accommodation for up to 96 guests.
A proud product of country rugby league with deep family ties to the Mudgee Region, Yeo brings national sporting credibility and local authenticity to the role.
“I am beyond excited to be the ambassador for Mudgee Team Training Village,” Yeo said.
“I’ve always been proud of my regional roots, and the village is exactly the kind of facility I wish we had growing up.
“It’s professional, well designed, and offers everything a team needs to prepare, connect and perform — whether you’re NRL, grassroots, or school sport.”
“Being from the country, I know I would have pinched myself if I ever had access to something like this when I was younger.
“The complex has everything for performance, you’ve got recovery, accommodation, gym facilities, and when that’s all done you can enjoy the recreation spaces and connect with your team.
Mayor of Mid-Western Regional Council, Des Kennedy said Yeo’s appointment reflects the national ambition of the centre.
“Isaah is one of the most respected athletes in the game — known not just for his professionalism on the field but his character off it,” Councillor Kennedy said.
“Having someone of his calibre representing Mudgee Team Training Village sends a clear message: we’re ready to host the best.”
Yeo will return to Mudgee on Friday, 22 August when the Penrith Panthers take on the Canberra Raiders at Glen Willow Stadium for Round 25 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.
The Mudgee Team Training Village is now open and accepting group bookings for 2025 and beyond.
