Eligible homeowners can now apply for funding to complete upgrades and improvements to their property through Council’s Local Heritage Grants program, with applications opening today, Friday 22 July.

The grants are available to assist with small maintenance and conservation projects for significant buildings listed in local heritage conservation areas.

Applications can be made for minor repairs and maintenance such as external painting, roofing, restoration of timber windows and awning replacement across heritage sites in the region.

Grants between $1,500 and $5,000 are available, with matched funding to be provided by the applicant.

Council currently recognises more than 450 individually listed heritage items and four urban heritage conservation areas in the Mid-Western Region.

Applications are open now and will close on Friday, 2 September.
