Flavours of Mudgee - one month to go

The countdown to Flavours of Mudgee officially commenced today with the announcement tasting packages will go on sale next Thursday, 1 September.

Mayor Des Kennedy was joined by long-time stallholders, distiller and CEO of Baker Williams Distillery, Nathan Williams and owner of Spencer Cocoa Chocolate, Luke Spencer to officially launch the lead up to the event.

The trio unveiled a window installation at Mudgee Library that displays a series of Meet the Maker videos showcasing a variety of producers who attend Flavours. The installation also includes a new neon sign that will feature in a photo booth at the event.

“Council is thrilled its flagship event, Flavours of Mudgee, is making a return after two-years and I know a lot of people in the community are looking forward to it,” Mayor Des Kennedy said.

“We have over 65 stallholders returning, that includes 13 new stallholders, offering all new products. I think this year’s event will be very well attended so don’t delay on purchasing your tasting packages next week.”

CEO of Baker Williams Distillery, Nathan Williams said Flavours of Mudgee is always a highlight of the Mudgee calendar for his business.

“The town is buzzing, 10,000 plus people on the main streets of town, smiles all round – it’s a really positive, buoyant atmosphere, everyone sampling the spectacular local food, beer, wine and spirits that our region has to offer.

“It’s a credit to Mid-Western Regional Council, their ongoing investment in tourism is a significant factor in all of our successes. For us it’s also a day of celebration, we opened our business the day of the very first ever Flavours festival so it was our first ever event - this year it’s our tenth birthday so we can’t wait for it to roll around.”

Tasting packages will go on sale at 9am Thursday, 1 September at www.flavoursofmudgee.com.au.

A $25 tasting package includes five tasting (30ml) tokens and a souvenir Flavours of Mudgee tasting glass. Kids packages including three treat tokens and a souvenir cup will be available for $10. Packages will also be available for purchase in-person from a pop-up ticket box at The Stables, 86 Market St, the week of the event 17 - 24 September.

Flavours of Mudgee will be held on Saturday, 24 September 4pm – 8pm.
