Flavours of Mudgee marked 10 years on Saturday with over 10,000 people making their way into Mudgee’s CBD to enjoy the region’s best food and wine.

A strong contingent of visitors made up this year’s crowd, with close to 50 per cent visiting from outside of the region and the remaining living locally.

Based on these visitor numbers, length of overnight stays and postcode data it is estimated the event has generated $1.4 million for the local economy.

General Manager, Brad Cam said the Council co-ordinated event remains one of the State’s premier wine and food festivals.

“Flavours of Mudgee is really testament to Council’s commitment to supporting the local economy and the tourism industry as a key sector within it,” Mr Cam said.

“Council works hard to deliver this event and introduce new and exciting concepts to satisfy our attendees and ensure their return attendance.

“On behalf of Council I’d like to thank all the stallholders and businesses involved in ensuring the success of this event.”

Council secured $30,000 through Destination NSW’s Regional Event Fund to market the event locally and throughout the state.

Flavours of Mudgee will return in 2024 on Saturday, 28 September.
