Community invited to have their say on priorities
Published on 13 November 2024
Over the coming months, Council will be seeking community input and feedback as it reviews and updates the long-term plan for our region.
Reviewed every four years, the Towards 2040 Community Plan sets out where, as a community, we want to be in the year 2040. It is a future vision developed collaboratively between the community and Council and represents the aspirations of the people who live and work within the Mid-Western Region and strategies for achieving these goals.
Council’s General Manager, Brad Cam encouraged residents to attend one of the face-to-face engagements this month or provide comment online if they prefer.
“This is the most comprehensive engagement we undertake with the community and it occurs every four years,” Mr Cam said.
“Each voice in our community is important and that’s why we are engaging with schools and students as well as volunteer groups and industry leaders and most importantly the wider community.”
Council is embarking on a range of engagement activities to gain input and feedback from as many community members as possible. From next week, Council staff will be hosting pop-up engagements in Mudgee, Gulgong, Rylstone and Kandos CBDs (details below).
Next month, all residents will receive a paper survey with the December edition of Council’s Community News. Each household is asked to complete the survey (which can also be done online) and return to one of Council’s Customer Service Centres.
