Council's Development Directorate helps to conserve, protect and enhance the natural and built environment of the Mid-Western Region and to improve the quality of life for our community and future generations. Council has a primary responsibility of ensuring our sensitive environment is retained and, where possible, enhanced through the application of appropriate building and development controls for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.

A Duty Town Planner and Building Surveyor are available every day at the Development Enquiry Counter, between the hours of 8.30am–4.30pm.

The NSW Department of Planning and Environment has a great online tool making it faster and easier to access planning information online. The Planning Portal provides free online access to site specific information, including zoning. You can find out how planning controls affect a property by entering the address.
