Heritage Grants

Council's annual heritage grants are available to assist with small maintenance and conservation projects for heritage listed and significant buildings located in heritage conservation areas.

Applications can be made for minor repairs and maintenance such as external painting, roofing, restoration of timber windows and awning replacement across heritage sites in the region.

Grants between $1,500 and $5,000 are available, with matched funding to be provided by the applicant. Any proposed works are to obtain appropriate approvals, and applicants are required to supply two quotes for the proposed work. Council currently recognises more than 450 individually listed heritage items and four heritage conservation areas in the Mid-Western Region.

Heritage grant applications are now closed, and Council are undergoing their assessments. These will be taken to the October Council meeting on Wednesday, 15 October 2025 where the allocations will be decided.

Heritage grants will re-open July 2026.
