Community Gardens

Do you want to
  • Grow organic fruit and vegetables to feed our families;
  • Exchange local seeds and plants;
  • Learn sustainable gardening techniques;
  • Share recipes and ideas to eat the food we grow; and
  • Have fun and learn new skills?

In order for Council to assist with the establishment of a new community garden on Council land, a committee of no less than 8 people must approach Council and have

  • a planned garden project
  • adequate group structure
  • engagement of local community
  • appropriate insurance cover

Once the project is approved and any required development approvals are granted, a license agreement to use the land will be entered into with Council.
