Mid-Western Regional Council Library

Mid-Western Regional Council Library provides an extensive collection of print books, talking books, DVDs and magazines which has been developed for your reading and listening pleasure.

We have an extensive array of Fiction titles for Adults, Young Adults and Juniors; our younger readers are catered for with colourful and engaging picture and story books suitable for all reading abilities; and there are vast sections of Non Fiction and Junior Non Fiction subjects to suit all interests.

Each of our Library Branches has a selection of DVDs to suit all tastes, whether it be comedy, drama, documentary, for the young (or young at heart); magazines to keep you up to date with the latest in fashion, gossip, genealogy, discovery, food, men's stuff, sport and women's interests.

For those interested in Family and Local History, we hold many locally published titles as well as microfiche and microfilm from NSW State Records and historical local newspapers on microfilm. There is also a multitude of other works that will keep genealogists occupied for hours.

Library Membership

Membership of the library service is free to all residents of the Region. Just bring some photo identification, showing your name and your local address. Residents over 18 join as adult members. If you are between 16 and 18 and have your own identification, you can join as an adult member as well. If you are under 16 you can join as a junior member — you just need a parent or guardian to act as a guarantor. When you join the library you agree to look after the items you use and pay for any loss or damages.

eg ID 2000012345 : password 0102 (for the 1st of February)

After Hours Returns

Finding it hard to make it to the Library during opening hours to return your borrowed items? For your convenience, our Branches at Mudgee, Gulgong and Kandos have After Hours Chutes where you can return borrowed items when the Branches are closed. Please look for them near the main entrances.
