Showgrounds
Mid-Western Regional Council operates both the Mudgee and Rylstone Showgrounds. The showgrounds are multi-use facilities and have played host to a wide range of activities including local shows, community, sporting and equestrian events for many generations.
The ever popular Rylstone Show is held annually on the last Saturday of February, followed by the annual Mudgee Show on the first Friday/Saturday of March. Both shows continue to draw large crowds eager to experience the fun and excitement to be had at a country show. Also, exhibitors enthusiastically participate at our region's shows in preparation of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, held several weeks later.
Council recognises the benefits from these facilities to the well being of our region's communities and therefore strives to promote, develop and maintain these facilities.
Council adopted a Master Plan for the future development of the Mudgee Showground. This Master Plan 'provides a long term vision for the Showground, identifying what it should look like and how it should function into the future'.
