COVID-19 Local Business Booster Program

 Many local businesses in the Mid-Western Region have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated measures that have been taken by the Government to slow down infection levels. A COVID-19 Financial Assistance Program – Local Business Booster Policy was adopted by Council on 20 May 2020 to provide financial assistance to those local businesses owners that have been financially impacted by COVID-19.

The details of the Financial Assistance Program including requirements, process and eligibility criteria are detailed in the policy.

Eligible businesses must have:

  • an active ABN or ACN;
  • their main business location in the Mid-Western Region Local Government Area;
  • provide evidence of entitlement to JobKeeper payment (through the ATO);
  • met any previous Council grant acquittal requirements; and
  • completed the application form by the applicable cut-off time and date.

The maximum amount received by an organisation will be $1000, however this will be dependent on the number of applications received before the closing date of the program. If more than 720 applications are received, the formula for calculation of financial assistance grants is:

Total Program Budget ($720,000) ÷ Number of Eligible Local Business Booster Applicants.
