Waste, Recycling & Water Services

Waste Management

Mid-Western Regional Council operates kerbside domestic waste and recycling collection services within the towns of Mudgee, Gulgong, Kandos and Rylstone and the villages of Charbon and Clandulla. Domestic waste collected is transported to waste facilities at Mudgee or Kandos for landfilling. Recyclable waste collected is transported to the Mudgee Waste Facility for sorting and processing. The rural area and remaining villages are serviced with access to Waste Transfer Stations. More.......

 

Water Supply

Council provides a high quality sustainable water supply to the community for domestic use and has three water treatment plants providing reticulated water supplies at Rylstone/Kandos, Mudgee and Gulgong. To meet community aspirations the focus is to supply high quality water.  Council will continue with a water pipe (mains) replacement program that ensures a high quality of infrastructure and continues to deliver high quality water. More.......

 

Water Conservation

Did you know that a single leaking tap can waste up to 20,000 litres of water a year which would cost you around $50 (based on Mid-Western Regional Council's water charges for 2011/12). More.......

 

Waste Water

The focus of this activity is to provide highly efficient and effective sewerage systems that collect, treat and dispose of sewerage in an environmentally friendly manner. The treatment of sewer and all other wastewater in the community is vital to ensuring that Council has a good clean and healthy environment.  Council will continue to upgrade the sewer schemes to the highest standard that is affordable to the community and that will meet equivalent high environmental standards. More.......
