Community News is the official newsletter of Mid-Western Regional Council. It is published in the Mudgee Guardian on the Friday before each Regular Council Meeting. It is distributed to rural mail recipients by Australia Post and is also available at no charge from Council offices and libraries as well as on the Council website. Community News contains Council advertisements, news about Council activities including current roadwork's and opportunities for community comment on key issues.

In addition to Community News, Council from time to time issues media releases to inform the community and the media about major events at the time they take place. These media releases are available on the Council website. To see a listing of Council media releases, click here.
Media Policy
The media policy relates to Mid-Western Regional COuncil's communication with the community and is designed to provide a framework for Councillors, staff, delegates and advisers to ensure all communication with the media is consistent, balanced, well-informed, timely, professional and appropriate. The media policy also governs the use of Social Media by Council staff for the purposes of communication, promotion or general business on behalf of Council.
