Mid-Western Regional Council Library provides a range of services for children and youth in our area.

Storytime

Storytime is held in each of our libraries at Gulgong, Kandos and Mudgee.

Special collections

Children's and Youth collections are held at each library and each library has a space dedicated for use by children and youth. Resources include picture books, novels and series, talking books, videos and DVDs.

Holiday Activities

Each school holiday programmes are available. Space for many of these programmes is limited, so early booking is essential. Programme information will be available on this website.

Students

Mid-Western Regional Council Library has several services dedicated to students in our area. These include Online Resources, Your Tutor, Infocus notes, and headspace - a program for HSC students.

When can my child get his/her own library card?

The sooner your child has their own card the better! There is no lower age limit, but we do need a parent/carer to act as guarantor for junior members.

What programs are available for my child?

The Library has regular age graded programs for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and a range of activities for older children and teens during the school holidays. Check out our Storytime and Holiday Activities pages.

Can I leave my child at the Library by themselves?

We love to welcome children, but we do not have the staff to ensure that unaccompanied children remain safe and comfortable. In general, we ask that children are accompanied in the Library by an adult carer and not left in the Library by themselves.
