Cemeteries
Council owns, operates and manages cemetery facilities at Gulgong, Mudgee and Rylstone.
It is Council’s intention to maintain these facilities at a high level as it is normally an emotional and sad time when people visit these facilities and Council wishes to make people’s visit there as pleasant as possible.
General maintenance of these cemeteries includes mowing, whipper snippering, weeds spraying and pest control, excavation for burials and grave maintenance.
Council also maintains rural cemeteries in the villages of Hargraves, Windeyer, Ulan, Wollar, Ilford, Lue and the localities of Tunabutta, Cudgegong and Crudine, but to a lesser standard than the main cemeteries.
Major works planned for this year include:
- Mudgee Cemetery toilet upgrade
And in future years:
- Construction of a lawn cemetery at Rylstone is proposed for 2011/12.
